Because I work in a city and live in a town that gets a lot of summer tourism and frequently take the rail road that connects the two, I encounter my fair share of custom duffel bags each week. Some people actually bring full-on luggage with them, which is always annoying because it doesn’t fit in the overhead bin, but I digress. The train was so crowded the other day that I had to stand, and I got to admire everyone’s bags. It made me realize how few employers actually take advantage of giving their employees promotional travel supplies– instead of staring at blank duffel bags for over an hour, I could have spent that time staring at a company logo, which would have been good for the brand. People travel a lot in the summer, so giving employees promotional bags will not only garner good will by giving them something thoughtful that they will use, but it also gives you lots of free advertising.

In August I’m taking a lo-o-ong vacation, so I’ve started looking for a piece of good, durable luggage for my trip. I had heard really good things about Victorinox Swiss Army products, so I figured I would check out what kind of custom suitcases they offer. This one is really neat– not only does it have a hanging mesh garmet bag on the interior to keep dressier clothes neat, but it has “curved monopole” with “360 degree swivel handle”– in laymens turns, the handle twists so that the bag can be pulled behind you in a more natural position. Pretty neat stuff! Now I just need to find a custom laptop sleeve and I’ll be all set to jet!

Summer is typically one of the busiest travel periods of the year. As warm weather sends families packing for exciting new destinations, a big demand for carry-on travel luggage arises. By providing your customers and employees with imprinted travel luggage, you not only give them a welcomed convenience, but you create a cost-effective advertisement capable of gaining big-time publicity for your brand.
Here are three tips to consider when purchasing imprinted carry-on luggage for your next promotional campaign.
- Don’t reinvent the wheel! If you want to give your recipients a convenient and useful bag, pick a model that has wheels. Rolling carry-on bags make it extremely easy to transport luggage and maneuver through crowded airports. Two wheels and an extending handle turn your promotion from “just another bag,” into a reliable and handy convenience.

- Removable day packs for extra room. If your recipients aren’t packing lightly, it makes sense to choose a promotional carry-on bag that comes with a removable day pack. This attachment expands the storage capacity of the carry-on bag, but it can also be removed and worn like a regular backpack. This particular day pack features zippered accessory compartments, dual water bottle pockets, and an MP3 player headphone port.

- Keep it simple for shorter trips. If you are giving carry-on luggage to employees or clients planning a short trip, consider a smaller bag that won’t be a burden. A half-duffel is the perfect size for these types of excursions, and although it may not have wheels, the re-enforced padded shoulder straps make it just as easy to transport.

All of these promotional carry-on luggage options feature a large imprint area that will keep your logo clearly on display. Whether the bag is being wheeled, worn, or carried, you can expect your brand to reach large crowds of travelers in locations across the globe.
Remember to keep these tips in mind and consider the unique needs of your recipients before you decide on an imprinted carry-on bag for your campaign!
