Over the last week my friend and I finally organized the mess in my closet. When we got to the bags, I found myself completely overwhelmed by all the clutter. 2 hours and one impromptu fashion show later, I weeded out about 25 unnecessary accessories for the thrift store.

In that pile was a promotional cooler bag I had picked up from a street fair years ago. Since we had been working long and hard, my friend and I decided to grab the seemingly pointless bag and pack a picnic. We were instantly amazed. This bag had space for sandwiches, sodas, dessert and utensils- and it wasn’t even full! Then I tossed it over my shoulder and the excitement increased 10-fold. I could still fit my keys and wallet in the side pocket and the strap was super comfortable on my shoulder.

Needless to say, that bag earned its keep and I will continue traipsing around town promoting NuKitchen (the company who gave the bags out for free).

Bank of America is having quite the bag promotion going on right now if you sign up for an account. Just look at the variety they’re giving away! You can (apparently, I did not stop to listen to the sales pitch) choose from an insulated grocery tote, what looks like a jute tote, or a regular old shopping tote. I guess if bags are your bag, you’ll want to be banking with Bank of America!

As I’ve mentioned, summer is here and it’s time to go to the beach, and blah blah blah– but an important part of even feeling up to going to the beach is being in shape. The right gym bag can make a huge difference in how often you make it to work out. Sometimes a mere drawstring backpack isn’t enough to hold everything you need– sneakers, a change of clothes, a towel– and without the essentials, you aren’t going to want to work out. If you’ve already invested in a gym membership, make sure it doesn’t go to waste and get yourself a nice customized gym bag to fit your needs.

In the wake of high school graduations, many people will be heading off to college in the fall. I don’t have much advice, but I will say this: bring a laundry bag. A laundry bag was the last thing I thought of to bring with me to school– in fact, I never actually thought of it, I just got one for free from my bank. But the laundry facilities were not in my dorm, and it came in especially handy when carrying my weight in dirty clothes across the quad. It definitely got more use than my promotional drawstring backpack, which was intended for use at the gym. Hah!

I’ve seen plenty of promotional grocery totes lately, but never a netted one like this. Although there wouldn’t be much room for a logo, a netted bag like this will help you stand out in the crowd. Plus, you can still see your items, much like a plastic bag.
