Uniting two once-distant groups - role playing gamers and DIY designers - this D20-shaped purse tote is sold as a kit you construct yourself, leading (hopefully) to the reasonably attractive bag shown here. I think it could do with a little color, personally, but I suppose you could dye the pieces before sewing them together. I’m not sure what kind of outfit you’d wear this with, but please, skip the Middle Earth apparel - I don’t care how seriously you take your roleplaying.

This is a really cool promotional shopping bag! With the advent and popularity of reusable shopping totes, plastic bags need to be creative like this one if they’re going to remain relavent. Of course, for the environment’s sake, lets hope not too many other brands catch on.

There aren’t many bags that have “pop culture” status, but Bloomingdale’s “brown bags,” are definitely an exception. Bloomingdale’s doesn’t even put their name on these famous promotional shopping bags, yet everyone knows where they’re from - a testament to the huge success and popularity of the bags. They’ve been around since 1922. Now, Bloomingdale’s is updating their shopping bags for the 21st century. Instead of paper, there are now tote bag versions of brown bag, which are reusable and therefore a great eco-friendly alternative. There’s no doubt that shoppers will flock to these new tote bags and carry the tradition well into the future.

I’ve talked about a lot of different bags in the last few months, but this anti-theft sandwich bag is hands down my absolute favorite. Have you ever experienced the annoyance of having your sandwich stolen out of the company fridge? Wish there was a way to make sure that hungry co-workers kept their paws off of your food? The anti-theft ziplock “moldy” sandwich bag is here to save the day.
The bag features fuzzy green splotches imprinted on both sides of the bag, so when you put your sandwich in, it becomes totally unappetizing. Other people will quickly overlook your moldy sandwich and focus their efforts on a new target. Little do they know, the sandwich is perfectly fine. The anti-theft sandwich bag is not currently for sale, but it’s probably pretty easy to re-create the idea on your own — and its more convenient than padlocking your existing lunch bag!

Hewlett Packard has announced that it is replacing the standard cardboard packaging of its Pavilion DV6929 laptops with something a little more unique and eco-friendly: reusable laptop messenger bags made out of 100% recycled materials. The new bags are expected to reduce packaging by 97% while cutting fuel costs and CO2 emissions as well. The laptops will be sold exclusively by Walmart, who hosted a Home Entertainment Design Challenge (that HP won) to find new product packaging designs that would be attractive, eco-friendly, and recyclable/reusable.
This innovative packaging is going to have many people asking, “Why didn’t we think of that?” It’s simple, yet highly effective. Not only will customers appreciate the free promotional bag, but it will reduce waste, save HP money, and build the power of their brand as the laptop bags capture attention wherever they are used. What are some ways your company might be able to use promotional bags to replace wasteful cardboard packaging?
