Funny laptop bag

I like the imprint on this funny laptop bag. It’s just a simple spoof on classic caution sign designs showing a bicyclist falling head over heels after hitting a rock. With wireless networks expanding and the price of technology dropping, laptops are becoming more and more widespread. Take advantage of this trend by using promotional laptop bags as free giveaways to clients and prospects. You can have the bags imprinted with anything you’d like, including a company name, logo, slogan or URL. As recipients lug their laptops around, your marketing message gains great exposure.

What Not To Do

This is something that always makes me scratch my head when I see it: a promotional bag mixed with a contradictory message. In this case, marketers chose a plastic bag for an anti-litter campaign. I can’t help but wonder how this made it past the brainstorm meeting.

No, the plastic bag isn’t recyclable or made from post-consumer materials. It’s just a standard petroleum-based plastic bag! Yet whoever organized the campaign seems to have overlooked the glaring inconsistency between their message and the medium they chose.

If you want to run an environmentally-friendly marketing campaign, please don’t choose plastic bags that are in direct contradiction to everything you’re saying. That’s like imprinting “SAVE THE WHALES” on a single-hulled oil tanker before crashing it into a rocky shoreline to gain publicity with the subsequent eco-disaster.

At the very least, use resuable shopping totes instead of wasteful plastic bags. Or, find an option thats biodegradable to minimize your impact. But whatever you do, be authentic and walk the walk instead of just talking the talk.

Dastoff Plastic Shopping Bag

Today we’ve got yet another plastic shopping bag with a creative imprint. This one’s from a department store in Amsterdam…I think (the website is in Dutch!). This cool bag makes it look like your clothing is inside of a washing machine! Nothing super-special, but definitely a good example of an eye-catching promotional bag idea. The Dastoff logo is clearly visible in the bottom right corner, where I’m sure it soaks up plenty of good exposure.

Genius Anti-theft Sandwich Bag

I’ve talked about a lot of different bags in the last few months, but this anti-theft sandwich bag is hands down my absolute favorite. Have you ever experienced the annoyance of having your sandwich stolen out of the company fridge? Wish there was a way to make sure that hungry co-workers kept their paws off of your food? The anti-theft ziplock “moldy” sandwich bag is here to save the day.

The bag features fuzzy green splotches imprinted on both sides of the bag, so when you put your sandwich in, it becomes totally unappetizing. Other people will quickly overlook your moldy sandwich and focus their efforts on a new target. Little do they know, the sandwich is perfectly fine. The anti-theft sandwich bag is not currently for sale, but it’s probably pretty easy to re-create the idea on your own — and its more convenient than padlocking your existing lunch bag!
