Drawstring backpacks are one of the hottest trends right now, and they’ve been steadily increasing in popularity for years. But what makes them so desirable for businesses and recipients alike? A combination of functionality and affordability seems to be the answer. Let’s take a look at this Large Drawstring Backpack, which is our Promotional Bag of the Week!
First off, let’s talk about benefits for companies that want to use drawstring bags as part of a promotional campaign. An ideal item will be popular, inexpensive, and have a large imprint area for a logo or marketing message. The typical drawstring bag has all three of these characteristics, which makes it a top candidate for basic promotional campaigns.
For recipients, drawstring bags are a useful gift that can be taken to school, to work, to the gym, or essentially anywhere else where items must be carried. Many consumers like drawstring bags because they are a reusable alternative to plastic bags. Over the years, drawstring backpacks have also gained status as a fashion accessory. Younger audiences make up a big part of the demographic that uses these packs, which is important to note if your business markets to these age groups.
A successful combination of functionality, price, and style make this large drawstring backpack our Promotional Bag of the Week! For more bags, stay tuned and check for updates frequently.

Here are some bags you don’t see everyday. The Xposed cosmetics bag, grocery bag, and shopping tote all feature an amusing design which makes it seem as if you are viewing X-ray contents of the bag. The items inside seem pretty harmless for the most part, until you suddenly get a glimpse of a pistol, brass knuckles, or maybe a bottle of Jack Daniels liquor. These bags certainly get people to do a double-take, but I don’t think airport security personnel will find it quite as funny. Better off leaving these bags at home if you’re planning to travel

Creating promo goodie bags is a creative way to accomplish your marketing goals. However varied these goals may be, you can leverage the power of attention-grabbing promotional products to create a giveaway kit that will keep your brand fresh in the mind of recipients for a long time.
Promo goodie bags are a great tradeshow giveaway, but you can also give them to office visitors or use them as sales force leave-behind gifts. No matter how you put your promo kits to use, expect great returns on your investment.
Keep these points in mind when creating a goodie bag for your clients and prospects:
- How will you relay your contact information? Including your contact information in your promo kits is the whole point of the campaign! If you really want recipients to remember you, find a creative way to include this essential info. Instead of dropping a boring old business card in the bag, get your name, number, and e-mail address imprinted on a unique promotional product. Magnets, pens, or puzzles are novel items that your audience will hang on to.
- What kind of bag are you going to use? The type of bag you use is entirely dependent on your goal for the promo kit campaign. If you are attending a trade show, you may want to package the kit inside of an imprinted tote bag. Trade show attendees are likely to use the bag to hold onto other materials they receive, so you can count on your logo getting great exposure throughout the event. If you’re running a smaller campaign or are limited by your budget, a simple plastic bag can do the trick. Remember to choose a bag that has a large imprint area to display your logo.
- What else is going inside the kit? Once you have the essentials figured out (the bag and your contact info), it’s time to decide what other promotional products deserve a spot in your goodie bag. Don’t just pick items that you think are fun – instead, put yourself in the shoes of your recipients and ask what type of products would be most useful for them. If you’re catering to students, school supplies are a great giveaway item. If your prospects are business professionals, imprinted desktop items are a surefire way to keep your brand fresh in their minds.
Promo goodie bags are an awesome way to reach out to your audience and give them a valuable gift that they’ll want to hang on to. Creative giveaways give you an edge over competitors who are still relying on common and ineffective ways of communicating with their audience. It’s time to go beyond business cards and cold calls – use promo kits to get your foot in the door with potential clients!

This is a great example of an effective eco-friendly promotion aimed to reduce the usage of plastic bags. While it may seem a bit hypocritical on the surface (it is a plastic bag itself after all), Mountain Equipment Co-op clears everything up with a message imprinted in both French and English.
The bag explains that even though it’s 100% biodegradable, the best bag is still no bag. MEC then makes the promise to donate 5 cents to an eco-friendly cause the next time the shopper comes into a store without a bag! There’s no doubt that this is a convincing promotional bag, but I find the French message even more powerful and persuasive. It reads:
“This bag is doomed. Conceived to disappear, it is biodegradable and compostable. But did you really need it? Let’s stop using disposable bags!”
